The heart of jewellery will be beating from 19-21 October at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre
This year’s 38th KOSMIMA International Exhibition for Jewellery, Clocks and Watches, Precious Stones, Machinery and Equipment has recorded an increase of 35% in the number of exhibition participations compared to last year’s event and will be held at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre from 19-21 October.
KOSMIMA attracts major interest from the sector’s enterprises in Greece and the broader region of Southeast Europe.
Following last year’s successful event — which attracted more than 2000 trade visitors and made the best of impressions — and with relevant side events scheduled, KOSMIMA 2024 is a radiant event that has attracted all jewellery professionals and jewellery lovers.
The exhibition will also cover 23% more square metres than last year.
KOSMIMA 2024 is hosting 69 exhibitors from Greece and abroad (namely from Germany, Armenia, Turkey, Italy, Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Lebanon), while indirectly represented are houses from Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Ireland, Belgium, Switzerland, France, and Japan. Furthermore, KOSMIMA will be visited by a delegation from Bulgaria with 20 trade visitors.
Kosmima will also host the works of the 35th Panhellenic Jewellery Design Competition, which is being organised by the Panhellenic Federation of Silver- and Goldsmiths, Jewellers and Watchmakers (POVAKO), in partnership with TIF-Helexpo
During the exhibition, the following side events will take place:
– Presentation: ‘Exploring pearls – a 15-year journey’ by Melanie Georgacopoulos (Sunday 20/10, Time – 13:00, Pavilion 8). Melanie Georgacopoulos is an internationally recognised and highly successful jewellery designer, and she will present her innovative approach to pearls.
– Speech: ‘Silversmithing in Ioannina: A story’ by Ms Katerini Liampi, Professor Emeritus of Ancient Greek History and President of the Society for Epirotic Studies (Sunday 20/10, Time – 14:30, Pavilion 8).
38th KOSMIMA Press Conference
KOSMIMA 2024 is a successful exhibition that is making a comeback with a much higher number of participations than last year, as pointed out during today’s press conference on the upcoming start of the event by TIF-HELEXPO President, Mr Tasos Tzikas. Mr Tzikas was particularly focused on the historically excellent level of cooperation with POVAKO, focusing on the KOSMIMA and Athens International Jewellery Show expos.
For his part, the Director General of TIF-HELEXPO, Alexis Tsaxirlis, noted that the exhibition gates will open for trade visitors from Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Serbia, while he underlined that TIF-HELEXPO has been continuously supporting the jewellery industry since 1985 with KOSMIMA.
The President of POVAKO, Mr Petros Kalpakidis, stressed that the organising of KOSMIMA is progressing very well and this year the event will cover three exhibition pavilions with many participations. In fact, Mr Kalpakidis highlighted the cooperation of the jewellery sector with TIF-HELEXPO, pointing out that national exhibition body Management is combining the business and social dimensions of its exhibitions into its strategy.
The opening of 38th KOSMIMA will take place on Saturday, 19 October at 18:00, and will be officiated by the Deputy Minister of Interior (Macedonia and Thrace), Mr Konstantinos Gioulekas.
The awards of the 35th Panhellenic Jewellery Design Competition will be awarded on Sunday, 20 October at 11:30 at the KOSMIMA premises. This year’s competition theme was: ‘Pearls. A Journey from Yesterday’s Tradition to Tomorrow’s Innovation’ and gave the opportunity to young and more experienced creators to be inspired and showcase the timeless dynamism of Greek jewellery through their creations.
The opening hours of KOSMIMA are Saturday 19 and Sundays 20 October, 10:00-20:00, and Monday 21 October, 11:00-19:00.
